Following the recent retirements of Graeme Williams and Ian Johnson, the Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Breadmore as a new Board Member.
Lauren is a former professional tennis player who competed on the WTA tennis circuit from 2002-2011. Prior to embarking on the professional tennis circuit, she graduated from Wesley College with an ENTER score of 99.1 and was awarded the Alexander Wawn Scholar dux award.
During her tennis career, Lauren reached a career high ranking of No.4 in Australia, No.1 in Victoria and No.221 WTA. Lauren competed in five Grand Slams at the Australian Open, including the Main Draw Singles and Doubles, competing against world top five players Maria Sharapova and Svetlana Kuznetsova.
Following her tennis career, Lauren completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at The University of Melbourne with majors in Finance and Management, and then went onto work as a consultant with one of the world’s leading management consulting firms – A.T. Kearney.
With a passion for entrepreneurship, Lauren moved on from the corporate world and launched a sports, entertainment and media company – Bijon Sports Media, which currently operates across the media production, sponsorship and consulting industries.
As a member of the Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club Lauren was both Ladies Open Singles champion and Open Mixed Double champion in 2002, 2003 and 2005.
We welcome the youthful enthusiastic perspective Lauren will bring to the Foundation Board of Directors and look forward to benefitting from her marketing and management expertise.
